5.26 Printing a Character Dump List
This mode enables you to check whether data is being transferred correctly from the computer to the plotter.
If the output data and the program data are different, check the transmission conditions and the cable
connections.
The pen carriage starts moving as soon as the DUMP mode has been selected. To avoid any injury to yourself or
damage to the plotter, keep your hands and other obstacles out of the vicinity of any moving parts.
(1) Load a medium in the plotter.
(2) Mount a plotting pen.
(3) Press the
[PAUSE] key to select PAUSE mode.
(4) Press the
[NEXT] key until the following menu is displayed.

(5) Press the [F4] key (OPTION2) to display the following menu.

(6) Press the [F4] key (TEST) to display the following menu.

SELF TEST
COND. PAT. DUMP
(7) Press the [F4] key (DUMP) to display the character dump menu.

The currently selected setting is indicated by a black dot [
].
To select DUMP mode, press the [F2] key to shift the black dot next to ON.
If you decide not to select DUMP mode, press the
[F4] key to shift the black dot next to OFF.
(8) Press the
[ENTER] key. If DUMP mode has been selected, DUMP appears on the display to indicate that the plotter
has entered DUMP mode.
(9) Transmit the data from the computer. A character dump list is printed.
(10) When all of the data has been printed, turn off the plotter to cancel DUMP mode.
The character data is printed as ASCII codes. Data that is not in the ASCII code charts is plotted as two-digit
hexadecimal values.
When the plotter receives READ commands that instruct it to output data, it will output dummy data (except in the
case of READ commands that request the output of the plotter's status).
