Chapter 5 FUNCTION SETTINGS AND OPERATIONS
5.13 Sorting
Sorting helps prevent wasted time in tool changes and reduces the time required for a cutting/plotting
operation. When sorted data from the software is received, less time is required for processing than when
sorting is performed on your plotter. In such cases, switching off sorting can speed up processing.
(1) Press the [PAUSE] key to select PAUSE mode.
(2) Press the
[NEXT] key repeatedly until the following menu is displayed.

(3) Press the [F3] key (FUNCTION) to display the menu shown below.

(4) Press the [F4] key (SORTING) to display the Sorting settings screen.

SORT = OFF
The currently selected mode is shown at the right. Use the [ ] or [ ] key to cycle through OFF, 1, and 2, and to
select the mode.
OFF: Sorting is deactivated.
1: Inthedatareceived,alldataplottedbythesametoolisgroupedtominimizethenumberoftoolchangesand
reduce the tool-changing time.
2: Additional settings are applied to "1" above so that work done by the cutter pen comes last.
Afterselectingthemode,conrmyourselectionbypressingthe
[ENTER] key. To cancel your selection, press the
[NEXT] key.
(5) Press the
[PAUSE] key to cancel PAUSE mode.

Data is stored in the plotter's buffer for sorting processing, and so it may take a moment for cutting to begin.

Complete the settings for COND Nos. 1 to 8 in advance for the tools to be used in sorting. See Section 3.8, "Setting
the Cutting Conditions", for further details.
