Chapter 3 PREPARATIONS FOR CUTTING/PLOTTING
(3) Press a key from [F1] to [F4] to move the blinking cursor to the parameter that you wish to set.
(4) Change the setting value of the parameter that you wish to set.
(5) Press the
[ENTER] key to register the setting conditions in the plotter’s internal memory. To cancel your settings,
press the [NEXT] key.
(6) Press the
[TEST] key to perform test cutting. Make any adjustments required by changing the settings to suit the
media type and thickness.
Setting the Cutting Force (Pen Force, Creaser Force) [FORCE]
This setting determines the cutting force for a cutting operation, the pen force for a plotting operation and the
creasing force for a creasing operation. Please see Section 3.10, "Media and Cutting Conditions" for further
details on the setting values.
When cutting card, cardboard or similar media the cutting force that will be required changes according to the cutting
direction.
(1) With the plotter in Ready status, press a key from [F1] to [F4] to select the COND No. that you wish to change.
(2) Press the
[CONDITIONS] key to display the following screen. (The display will differ according to the setting
conditions that have been made.)

(3) Press the [F1] key to move the blinking cursor to the FORCE parameter.

(4) Use the [ ] or [ ] key to toggle between X and Y (but not when "PEN" has been selected for the cutter blade
type). When the direction that you wish to set the value for is displayed, use the
[ ] or [ ] key to change the
value.
Setting range (for both X and Y): Tool holder 1: 1 to 40, Tool holder 2: 2 to 80 (in increments of 2)
If different values have been set for X and Y, the cutting force in the diagonal direction will be a value between the X
and Y values, and will vary according to the angle.

(5) When the displayed settings are correct, press the [ENTER] key. To cancel your settings, press the [NEXT] key.

This setting determines the tool speed for a plotting operation. Please see Section 3.10, "Media and Cutting
Conditions" for further details on the setting values.
(1) With the plotter in Ready status, press a key from [F1] to [F4] to select the COND No. that you wish to change.
