Sea trialling
Before commencing system setup, make sure that:
The vessel is securely moored (jet commissioning may produce large thrust forces)
All controls are set to zero speed (transfer enable icon
will display on the station
control panel).
Gearboxes (if installed) are in neutral.
No fault alarms are active (fix any alarms before continuing).
After the vessel has been launched, but while it is still moored, check the following:
Control checks
Set the dual lever module to full ahead. Check that the throttles give full on with 100% throttle demand.
Check the throttle range while in backup.
Check that the engine start interlocks operate when a control input device is not at the zero speed
position.
Check that the gearbox drive and backflush relays operate when activated (if a gearbox is installed).
Engine checks
For each engine:
Start engine.
Make sure the engine idle speed is acceptable.
Make sure the gearbox activates when pressing the gearbox button.
Check the JHPU oil level every few minutes during initial operation.
Visually check for any oil leaks.
