The following pages contain solutions to faults that could occur and some possible solutions:
Locate a symptom similar to that experienced.
Try each solution, starting with the simplest.
For further information refer to the pages indicated.
Make sure that primary and secondary power supplies to the control system are OFF
before connecting or disconnecting any modules.
Jet does not respond to normal control:
Possible cause
Solution
Engine not running
Start engine(s).
Gearbox not in 'drive'
Switch gearbox to 'drive'.
Control station in 'backup' mode
Switch to 'normal' mode.
Loss of electrical power to the station control panel or jet
interface module.
Check external fuses, circuit breakers and electrical
cabling.
Trying to operate from a control station or device which
is not active.
Transfer control to the required control station or device.
Jet does not respond to backup control
Possible cause
Solution
Engine not running
Start engine(s).
Gearbox not in 'drive'
Switch gearbox to 'drive'.
Control station in 'normal' mode
Switch to 'backup' mode.
Loss of electrical power to the station control panel or jet
interface module
Check external fuses, circuit breakers and electrical
cabling.
Gearbox does not respond to SCP commands
Possible cause
Solution
Engine not running
Start engine(s).
Trying to operate from a control station which is not
active.
Transfer control to the required control station.
Engine RPM is too high to allow gear change.
Reduce throttle and/or idle settings.
Dual lever module at active control station not in the zero
speed position.
Return dual lever module at active control station to zero
speed position.
