The set data format applies to all the measured values exchanged during cyclic data
communication. The decimal place specification for the 16-bit and 32-bit integer formats
is taken from the module setting (display, CAN bus), e.g. when 3 decimal places are
specified, 2.0 mm is transferred as the integer value 2000. The choice of data format
also affects the length of the input data (16-bit integer = 1 word per analog value; 32-bit
integer = 2 words per analog value).
Targeted enabling of the required control bits in the control word offers the possibility to
protect all unneeded functions against an unintentional activation in the event of an error.
Otherwise a set zero point might be lost for example.
