Preventive Maintenance

Check that motor-driven rollers are held
tightly by axle locks.
Check operation of all photo-eyes.
Check with Conveyor Shut Down
Clean all sensor lenses by gently wiping the
emitter/receiver lens with a damp soft cloth.
Take care to not scratch the lens or leave a
film or residue.
Visually inspect the condition of the carrier
roller side frame hex holes. Carrier rollers
should have 1/16 to 1/8 in. end play.
Check that all guards, side covers, and
safety devices are in place, and that safety
devices are working properly.

Check with Conveyor Shut Down
Check all bolted connections and tighten as
needed.
Check all set screws and tighten as
necessary.
Check all electrical connectors.
Check wiring for signs of shorts or wear.
Immediately change the wiring if either of
these signs is detected.
Check all NiChrome wiring in the transfer
panel for signs of charring and reduction in
overall length. For normal operation, there
should be two strands, each four in. long to
maintain resistance.
Check the condition of the transfer drive
roller sprocket.
Check to make sure the transfer pulley
mounting bolts are tight.
Check to make sure transfer belt tension is
adequate. It should have approximately 1
1/4 in. movement with a 5 to 10 pound force
at the center of the transfer.
Wipe dust, dirt, and oil from transfer motors.
