4.3.1 MDR Inspection and Replacement
You must read and understand these precautions completely before operating,
setting up, installing or performing maintenance on the equipment. Failure to
follow this instruction could result in serious personal injury and/or equipment
damage.
Inspecting an MDR Roller
1. Check drive roller operation by covering the photo-eye sensor in the adjacent
upstream zone. The drive roller should rotate.
2. If the drive roller does not rotate:
a. Turn off and lock out the power supply to the conveyor section and attempt to
manually rotate the drive roller.
b. If the drive roller still does not rotate, or resistance is encountered in addition to
the O-belt tension:
Check for debris trapped between any rollers and axles in the zone.
Check that the drive roller is centered in the frame and that the roller bearing
housing is not contacting the conveyor frame.
Clean or adjust the roller as necessary.
c. Remove the lock and turn on the power supply.
3. If the drive roller rotates manually but does not operate with power turned on, the
drive roller, control card, or power supply may be defective. Refer to the
Troubleshooting chapter.
4. When finished, remove tag, unlock and turn on the power supply to the conveyor
section.
