4.5 Replacing a Control Card
Before attempting to repair or replace a control card, controller device, or any other
device connected to these components, be sure that power to the controls is
locked out to prevent premature or accidental startup. Failure to follow this
instruction may result in serious personal injury, equipment damage, or death.
1. Turn off and lockout/tagout all power supplies to the conveyor section.
2. Disconnect the power cable from the card.
3. Disconnect the drive roller cable and the control cable and/or COMM cable from the
control card.
4. Remove the mounting bracket, with the control card attached, from the conveyor.
5. Set the switches on the new card to match the defective card.
6. Remove the defective control card from the mounting bracket and attach the new
control card.
7. Install the mounting bracket with the attached card.
8. Connect the control cable and/or COMM cable and drive roller cable to the control
card.
9. Reconnect the power cable.
10. At the power supply, remove tag, unlock and turn on the power to the conveyor
section.
4.6 Replacing a Remote I/O Module
1. Turn off and lockout/tagout all power supplies to the conveyor section.
2. Unbolt the I/O module from the frame mount.
3. Disconnect the cables attached to the module one at a time and plug them into the
same port in the new module.
