If you want to create an image to use as a backdrop for
dark text on a light background, such as an overhead
transparency, increase the
Black
output level value until
the image is as faint as you like.
If you want to create an image to use as a backdrop for
light text on a dark background, such as with color
slides, decrease the
White
output level value until the
image is as faint as you like.
Click the
Auto
button in the
Exposure Adjustment
tool to change all the exposure settings to the
optimal exposure settings determined by the
scanning software
