Power issues
Server does not power on
Symptom
The server will not power on.
Cause
• The power cord or internal power supply cable might not be securely connected.
• Issues might exist with the power supply or power source.
• The circuit breaker is in the off position.
• There is not enough power allocated to support the server.
• The line voltage is not sufficient for the load.
Action
1. Press the Power On/Standby button to verify that the server is powered on.

2. Verify that no loose connections exist.

3. Verify that all components are properly seated.
4. Verify that the power supply is supported on the server.

5. Verify that the power source meets applicable standards.
6. Plug another device into the power outlet to verify that the outlet is working properly.

7. Verify that the circuit breaker is in the On position.
8. Have a qualified electrician check the line voltage to verify that it meets the required specifications.
Power supply issues
Symptom
The server will not power on.

• The power supply cable is disconnected from the system board.
• AC power is unavailable.
• The power supply failed.
• The power supply is in standby mode.
• The power supply has exceeded the current limit.
• The power supply is not supported on the server.
Action
