10 Network access and data sharing
10.1 What can I do if there is no signal on the status bar?
1. Check the notification on the status bar:
No SIM card inserted or detected:
No service:
2. Solutions to no SIM card inserted and no service:
If the notification on the status bar indicates no SIM card inserted:
− Check that the SIM card is properly inserted.
− Check that the SIM card is valid (by inserting it to another phone). If the SIM card is
a cut nano-SIM card, replace it with a standard nano-SIM card at a service counter.
− Insert a valid SIM card into the phone. If your phone also fails to detect this SIM card,
the card slot may be faulty. Take your phone to an authorized Huawei service center.
If the notification on the status bar indicates no service:
− Check that the SIM card type matches your phone model.
− Check that your place has network coverage. To do so, move to another place or
check whether this problem also occurs in other smartphones with SIM cards of the
same carrier.
− Make sure your SIM card has sufficient balance.
− If the SIM card is not faulty (by checking it on another phone), take your phone to an
authorized Huawei service center.
10.2 Why is the network unavailable when I am browsing web
pages or downloading files?
1. If you suddenly fail to access the Internet, you may have insufficient balance. To check
whether your balance is insufficient, call a non-carrier service number.
2. If you keep failing to access the Internet, check that you have enabled data services. In
international roaming scenarios, check that you have enabled Data roaming from
Mobile network settings > Data roaming. Note that you need to enable data roaming
for SIM card 1 and SIM card 2 separately.
3. Contact your carrier and check that data services have been activated on your SIM card.
In international roaming scenarios, you need to specially activate data services from the
carrier.
