17.14 How do I disable fingerprint unlock?
1. Go to Settings > All > Screen lock & passwords > Password. Follow the onscreen
instructions to enter a password. From the unlock list, select the no password or pattern
option.
2. Go to Settings > All > Fingerprint ID > Fingerprint management. Enter an unlock
password and turn off Password.
3. With the preceding two methods, the fingerprint templates will be saved in your phone.
If you clear the fingerprints saved in your phone, the fingerprint unlock function will
also be disabled.
17.14.2 What happens to my fingerprint data when I restore
factory settings?
All your fingerprint data will be deleted when you restore factory settings.
17.15 Is Touch-disable mode also applicable to my phone's
fingerprint module?
The Touch-disable mode menu from Settings > Smart assistance > More is not
applicable to your phone's fingerprint module.
The fingerprint module supports touch-disable by default and cannot be manually
disabled.
17.16 What are the working principles for the continuous
detection of fingerprint unlock?
1. If fingerprint unlock fails for the first time, your phone gently vibrates. If fingerprint
unlock fails for the second time, your phone vibrates to notify you of the failure.
2. When the screen is turned on, if fingerprint unlock fails for the first time, you phone
gently vibrates and displays a message telling you that no matching fingerprint is found
and asking you to move your finger and try again. Then your phone continues to detect
your fingerprint. If fingerprint unlock fails for the second time, your phone vibrates and
displays a message indicating that no fingerprint is found and asks you to try again (not
implemented yet).
3. The detection time lasts for 3 seconds. Your phone can continue detection for 10 times.
If fingerprint unlock still fails after all the 10 times, your phone will stop the detection.
