17 Fingerprint identification
17.1 Does my phone support fingerprint identification?
Yes.
17.2 What can fingerprint identification do?
Fingerprint is one of the highlights of your phone that can not only enhance your phone's
information security but also provide convenient shortcuts to your phone. After you power on
your phone for the first time, you can follow the onscreen instructions to complete the basic
settings of fingerprint identification.
Fingerprint identification includes fingerprint touches and fingerprint verification.
Fingerprint touches: You can touch, touch and hold, and swipe on the fingerprint sensor to
perform corresponding operations on the screen without accessing the screen or recording
fingerprints. Using fingerprint touches, you can answer incoming calls, take photos, turn off
alarms, or open the notification panel.
Fingerprint verification: Without the need to use passwords, fingerprints can be used to
unlock the screen, access the safe, access App lock, log in to the Huawei account, or even
perform online payments using third-party applications. Fingerprint verification must work
with screen unlock PIN or hybrid password.
17.3 How do I set fingerprint touches?
Go to Settings > Fingerprint ID. You can enable or disable related functions for the
fingerprint touches part.
By default, The Take photo/video and Show notification panel functions are enabled while
the Answer call and Stop alarm functions need to be manually enabled.
17.4 Why can't I answer calls using my fingerprint?
When a call comes in and you accidentally press the power button, if the screen is not turned
on, you can't answer that call using your fingerprint.
