17.9 How many fingerprints can I record?
You can record up to five fingerprint templates from Settings > All > Fingerprint ID >
Fingerprint management.
17.10 A fingerprint is clearly not in the fingerprint list. When I
am recording this fingerprint, why does the system display a
message indicating that the fingerprint already exists? Why
does this problem persist even after I clear the fingerprint list?
Check whether you have enabled privacy protection and associated it with your fingerprint.
In privacy protection, the visitor's fingerprints will not be displayed from Settings > All >
Fingerprint ID > Fingerprint management. The system will not delete the visitor's
fingerprints even if you disable privacy protection. If the visitor's fingerprint is recorded again,
the system will display a message indicating that the fingerprint already exists.
17.11 My phone vibrates if fingerprint unlock fails. Can I
disable this feature?
No. This feature is designed as a reminder for you to notice that your phone is not unlocked.
17.12 Are there any restrictions on the times of failed
fingerprint unlock?
When your screen is turned on but locked, your phone will vibrate and display a message
indicating that the fingerprint unlock fails. If the fingerprint unlock fails for three times
consecutively, the lock screen will display a password keypad where you can use a password
to unlock your phone. If the fingerprint unlock fails for six times consecutively, your phone
will display a 30s countdown before you can try again, during which time you can also use a
password to unlock your phone.
When the screen is turned off, your phone will only vibrate but not wake up the screen if the
fingerprint unlock fails. After the fingerprint unlock fails for 30 times consecutively, if it still
fails for the 31st time, your phone will wake up the screen and display a 30s countdown
before you can try again, during which time you can also enter a password on the pop-up
onscreen keypad to unlock your phone.
17.12.1 Why does the fingerprint unlock feature frequently fail to
work properly?
The fingerprint sensor on Huawei phones is designed to work at temperatures ranging from
–20℃ to +75℃. If the fingerprint sensor fails to recognize your fingerprint, this is usually due
to the ambient conditions.
