• The robotic lawnmower follows the guide wire
on the same side of the wire to and from the
charging station. This means that the guide
wire is to the right of the mower when the
mower travels to the charging station while
it is to the left of the mower when the mower
travels away from the station.
• In passages, the guide wire must be placed
so that the mower has enough space to operate
in.
The distance between the boundary loop
and the guide wire must however be at least
30 cm.
• The same shortest distance (30 cm / 12 ”)
also applies to the distance between the guide
wire and the guide wire in the passage if the
guide wire is laid back and forth through the
passage, or double guide wires are used.
3.4 Testing the installation
As a part of the installation, selected settings for the
installation must be tested. The test is carried out with
Test nd charging station and Test lawn coverage.
It is recommended to turn off the ECO mode function
before carrying out these tests.
3.4.1 Test nd the charging station
The Testndthechargingstation function allows you
to test how well the robotic lawnmower docks safely
with the charging station.
Testndthechargingstationcan only be used after
the mower has calibrated the guide wires. In other
words, the mower must have left the charging station
on at least one occasion, either in Auto mode or in
connection with the start-up sequence.
1. Select Installation - Find charging station -
Overview - Test. All guide wires and the
boundary loop clockwise and anticlockwise
can be tested separately.
2. Position the mower at least 5 m / 16.4 ” from
the charging station and 3 m / 9.8 ” from
the guide wire or boundary loop, depending
on which is being tested *). Aim the mower
towards the wire to be tested.
3. Start the mower and check that it can follow
the wire and dock with the charging station.
If problems arise in connection with Testndthe
charging station, see 6.2.2 Symptoms during searching
on page 88.
*) The GARDENA R100Li, R100LiC,R130Li, R130LiC and
R160Li can only use a guide wire.
