Servers are not typically located near the people who manage them. To help you see the
event from a remote location, the IMM provides the capability to view all tiers of light path
diagnostics, as shown in Figure 7-33.

Hardware event log
For more detailed information, including the events that led up to a failure, you have access to
the hardware event log. Not every event in the hardware event log is an event needing
attention, but the log can provide insight about the cause or conditions that led up to a failure.
You can save the event log to a text file to send to IBM support.
Figure 7-34 on page 335 shows the IMM Event Log for the hard drive failure.
