Servicing the Refrigerator
You can gain access to the electrical and refrigeration components
by removing the back panel of the refrigerator.
The refrigerator compressor is equipped with external temperature
and overload protection, and may fail to start immediately when
power to the unit is momentarily interrupted or when the thermo-
stat setting is changed. It is normal for the overload relay to trip re-
peatedly in these instances, and in no way indicates a malfunction.
Refrigeration System
The refrigeration system is shown schematically in
Figure
17
. The
type of refrigerant and charge capacity is indicated on the serial
number label, on the inside of the door.
Figure 17 Refrigeration Schematic
Removing the front and back
panel exposes electrical and
mechanical hazards. Trouble-
shooting and repair activities
should be performed by a qual-
ified refrigeration technician.
All refrigeration repair work
must be performed by a quali-
fied refrigeration technician.
Always purge the system with
nitrogen. NEVER USE AIR to
purge the system.
Always recover the refrigerant.
When recharging, do not
leave a line tap in the refriger-
ation system because of pos-
sible corrosion or leakage
problems.
