carefully install the rotating kit 20 by first aligning with
the splines on the input shaft. With splines aligned,
install the rotating kit into the pump housing. Ensure
all parts are kept in their proper position.
21 With the rotating kit installed, reposition the housing
assembly with the input shaft pointing down and
install a new housing gasket 18.
22 If needle bearing 17 is to be replaced, press in to the
dimension shown with the numbered end of the
bearing facing the valve plate side of the back plate.

Fig 5.
23 Lightly coat the back plate side of valve plate 19 with
petroleum jelly for retention during assembly. Install
the valve plate over the needle bearing, aligning the
small slot on the outside of the valve plate with the
dowel pin A in the back plate.
24 Carefully install the back plate assembly by aligning it
with the dowel pins located in the pump housing.
Take care not to dislodge the valve plate.
25 Lightly coat the charge pump drive key 15 with
petroleum jelly and install it in the drive shaft
assembly.
26 Align the keyway of the gerotor inner ring 14 then
lubricate and install the inner ring and outer ring 13
over the input shaft and onto the back plate assembly.
27 If needle bearing 12 is to be replaced, press in to the
dimension shown with the numbered end facing
toward the flange side of the adapter.

28 With the gerotor assembly installed, install ‘O’ ring 11
into charge pump adapter plate 10 and place adapter
onto back plate over the gerotor. Retain with cap
screws 9. Torque cap screws to 53 to 56 Nm (39 to 42
lbf ft).
29 Install the two high pressure relief valves 8. Torque
valves to 129 to 142 Nm (95 to105 lbf ft).
30 Lubricate and reassemble the bypass valve 6. Install
the bypass valve into the back plate. Torque valve to
37 to 41 Nm (27 to 30 lbf ft.).
31 Coat charge pressure relief poppet 5 with petroleum
jelly and place poppet onto spring 4 and install into
the adapter plate.
32 Install charge pressure relief valve retainer 3 into the
adapter plate. Torque retainer to 7 to 9.5 Nm (5 to 7
lbf ft.).
33 Lubricate and install ‘O’ ring 2 on the gear pump.
Install the gear pump and secure with two bolts 1.
Torque bolts to 37 to 40 Nm (27 to 31 lbf ft).
The pump is now ready for test and reinstallation.
