Work in a clean area; cleanliness is extremely important
when repairing hydraulic pumps. Before dismantling, plug
the ports and thoroughly clean the outside of the pump.
After cleaning, remove port plugs and drain the oil.
Dismantling
1 Put a location mark across front plate 3, body 4 and
back plate 5 to assure proper reassemble.
2 Clamp pump in a soft jawed vice, shaft end
uppermost.
3 Remove cap screws 1 (eight) and washers 2 (four).
4 Remove pump from vice, hold pump in hands and tap
shaft with plastic hammer to separate front plate from
back plate. Body will remain with either front plate or
back plate.
5 Remove ‘O’ ring seal 6 from back plate.
6 Remove idler gear assembly 7 from body.
Note: Do not flip idler gear end to end.
7 To separate body 4 from the plate, place drive gear
assembly 8 in gear pocket and tap protruding end
with plastic hammer. Remove drive gear assembly.
8 Remove wear plate 9 and ‘O’ ring seal 12, noting
