3 Clamp housing in a vice.
4 Wrap tape over the end of the shaft to prevent cutting
the seals. Apply petroleum jelly to inside diameter of
dust and shaft seal. It may be necessary to use a
press to install shaft and bearing assembly. Do not
distort shaft seal. Damage to this seal will cause
leakage.
5 Apply petroleum jelly to ‘O’ ring 36. Install seal into the
bearing housing.
6 Alignment studs can be very helpful in re-assemble of
the motor. Studs can be made up as shown below.
Install 2 studs diagonally opposed in the bearing
housing.

Fig 4.
7 Install haft face seal 33 in the wear plate as shown
above. Do not distort the seal.
8 Install wear plate 32 as shown above.
9 Apply a light film of petroleum jelly to ‘O’ ring 31 and
install in the wear plate.
10 Install splined drive 30 into the output shaft.
11 Align the notch on the outside of Geroler 29 with the
notch on wear plate 32. Install the Geroler against the
wear plate. Be sure to retain the rollers in the outer
ring if they are loose.
12 Install valve drive 28 in the Geroler.
Note: The next stage of assembly involves the timing of
the motor. Timing determines the direction of rotation of
the output shaft. Timing is done in three steps.

Fig 5.
Timing Step 1 Locate the largest open pocket in the
Geroler 29 as shown at A and mark it on the outside edge
of the Geroler.
13 Apply a light film of petroleum jelly to ‘O’ ring 27 and
install in the groove of valve plate 26.
14 Align the notch on the outside of valve plate 26 with
the notch on Geroler 29 as shown above.
Timing Step 2 Locate the slot opening in the valve plate
which is in line with the largest open pocket of the Geroler
as shown at B.
Timing Step 3 — Locate any one of the six ports of valve
25 that is connected to the side openings of the valve and
align this port with the open slot of the valve plate that is in
line with the largest open pocket of the Geroler as shown
at C. Install the valve by rotating it clockwise until the spine
teeth engage (1/2 spine tooth max.) as shown at D. This
will provide the proper rotation.
15 Place shims 18 and spring 16 into internal bore of
relief valve poppet 17. Assemble poppet into its bore
in the valve housing. Install new O’ ring 19 onto end
plug 15 and screw into the valve housing. Torque to 8
to 11 Nm (75 to 100 lbf in).
16 Install new ‘O’ ring 13 onto end plug 14 and push into
the shuttle valve bore in the valve housing until flush
with the surface.
17 Install dashpot 12, spring 11 and poppet 10 into the
shuttle valve bore in the valve housing followed by
piston 9, poppet 8, spring 7 and dashpot 6.
