13 Install a new ‘O’ ring (106) on the piston (107). The ‘O’
ring should be tight on the piston and not twisted

14 Install the brake piston (107) in the brake body (101).
Take care when pressing the seal over the snap ring

15 Install the spring washer (108) on the brake piston

16 Compress the spring and install the snap ring in line
with the mark made during dismantling

17 Position a dial gauge on the brake housing as shown.
Apply hydraulic pressure to the brake, max. 17 bar
(247 lbf. in2), and measure the piston stroke

The piston stroke should be 0.81 to 1.27 mm (0.03 to
0.05 in). Select the thickness of shims required to
achieve the correct piston stroke.
