6. SYSTEM UPGRADING
RM-P200
The RM-P200 is a versatile camera control unit that combines
many features needed for studio or remote Stand-Alone opera-
tion.
Control and power is supplied for the camera to a distance of 100
Meters (325 feet) using the optional VC-P110 series camera ca-
bles. Cable Signal Level compensation is finely adjustable. Inter-
com connection and Tally trigger/indication are provided.
@ Camera control includes:
Shutter speed
Camera/Bars output
Gain
Automatic White Balance
Manual White Balance with Red Gain and Blue Gain
Black Balance/Auto Set (Auto white only)
Master Black level
Iris, Manual and Auto
Genlock functions, Loop through Reference video connection as
well as SC phase and H phase adjustment are all possible from
the remote unit with controls located on the front panel. Two com-
posite video outputs are provided, as well as a choice of either
RGB, Component or Y/C output. These basic functions are con-
trolled completely by the serial data connection to and from the
camera. Other advanced functions such as LOLUX or Full Auto
Shooting, Full Time Auto White, Variable Scan, shutter speed in
1/100 (NTSC),1/120 (PAL),1/2000 and others are not controlled.
RM-P300
CAUTION :
When the RM-P300 is connected, the camera or the RM-P300
should be adjusted internally depend on it's configuration.
In this case, please consult JVC authorized service center.
In addition to all the basic functions of the RM-P200, the RM-P300
adds comprehensive front panel warnings.

IN CASE OF DIFFICULTY
e Troubles related to video image
Abnormal color phase:
« Is the SC phase adjusted properly?
No locking with the reference signal:
* is the MODE switch of the KA-27 camera adapter set to RM?
* Is the reference signal input through the GENLOCK INPUT
connector?
* Is a VCR playback signal not used as the reference signal?
* Is the reference signal a proper signal such as composite video
or black burst?
* Genlocking does not occur with a computer output signal.
e Troubles related to control
Taily lamp does not light:
* ls power supplied to the tally input connector?
* Is the internal trigger switch set properly?
Intercom is not possible:
* Does the headset in use have an optimum impedance (be-
tween 200 and 600 ohms)?
* Is the MODE switch of the KA-27 camera adapter set to RM?
Auto setup indicator does not light:
* Are all of the cables connected properly?
CAUTION :
While the gain, shutter or white balance adjustment function
is Operated from the remote control unit, the FAS function
cannot be used even when it is activated on the camera.
CAUTION :
The functions which are available on the camera but not on
the remote control unit cannot be controlled. However, setting
the gain contro! to 24 dB on the RM-P300 puts the camera in
the LoLux mode (+33 dB).
