Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) (Sensor
fusion)
Emergency Braking (nd warning)
䳜 The warning message appears on
the LCD display with the warning
alarms.
Additionally, some vehicle function
intervention occurs by the engine
management function to help decel
-
erate the vehicle.
The vehicle may slow down slightly.
䳜 It will operate if the vehicle speed
is greater than 10 km/h (6 mph)
and less than or equal to 7 km/h
(46 mph) on a forward vehicle.
(Depending on the condition of
the vehicle ahead and the envi
-
ronment surrounding it, the pos
-
sible maximum operating speed
may be reduced.)
䳜 For pedestrian and cyclist, the
vehicle speed is greater than or
equal to 10 km/h (6 mph) and less
than 8 km/h (2 mph). (Depend
-
ing on the condition of pedestrian
and cyclist and the surrounding
environment the possible maxi
-
mum operating speed may be
reduced.)
- If you select "8arning only",
FCA activates and produces
only warning alarms in accor
-
dance with the collision risk lev
-
els. You should control the
brake directly because FCA do
not control the brake.
Brake operation
In an urgent situation, the braking
function enters into the ready sta
-
tus for prompt reaction to assist the
driver in depressing the brake pedal.
䳜 FCA provides additional braking
power for optimum braking per
-
formance when the driver
depresses the brake pedal during
warning.
䳜 The braking control is automati
-
cally deactivated when the driver
sharply depresses the accelera
-
tor pedal, or when the driver
abruptly operates the steering
wheel.
䳜 The braking control is automati
-
cally cancelled when risk factors
disappear.
The driver should always exercise
caution when operating the vehicle,
even though there is no warning
message or warning alarm.
