The S3SCM continually monitors all
S3S components whilst the ignition
switch is 0N to determine if a crash
impact is severe enough to require
air bag deployment or pre-tensioner
seat belt deployment.
The S3S air bag warning light " "
on the instrument panel will illumi

nate for about 6 seconds after the
ignition switch is turned to the 0N
position, after which the S3S air bag
warning light " " should go out.
If any of the following conditions
occurs, this indicates a malfunction
of the S3S. In this case, have the
system inspected by a professional
workshop. Kia recommends to visit
an authorised Kia dealer/service
partner.
