2.4 View Boxes and Viewing Conditions (Technologist)
2.4.1 Test Objective
To follow the guidance given in the "Mammography Quality Control Manual" (ACR, 1999) Radiologic Technologist
section procedure 9.
2.4.2 Frequency
• Initially before interpreting mammograms
• WEEKLY
• Whenever a problem related to the viewing condition is suspected
2.4.3 Required Equipment
• Non woven lint free cloth

2.4.5 Performance Criteria and Corrective Action
Performance Criteria: Follow the guidance given in the "Mammography Quality Control Manual" (ACR, 1999) Radio-

Corrective Action: Follow the guidance given in the "Mammography Quality Control Manual" (ACR, 1999) Radiologic
Technologist section procedure 9.
The source of the problem shall be identied and corrective action shall be taken before further mammographic im-
age interpretation is performed under these conditions. Patient imaging may be continued.
2.4.6 Documentation
Record this activity in the Table RT-S1 (TECHNOLOGIST'S MAMMOGRAPHY QC TEST SUMMARY: Daily and
Weekly Tests) or use the worksheets and forms referenced in the "Mammography Quality Control Manual" (ACR,
1999) Radiologic Technologist section procedure 9.
