3.15.5 Performance Criteria and Corrective Action
Performance Criteria (Geometric Distortion): The error in length should be within +/- 5% of the true value.
Performance Criteria (Jitter): The borders of the scale should appear straight and smooth. No jitter along the border
should be observed. If a jitter exists you will nd such image as below.
Corrective Action: If available, use an alternative image display device and re-evaluate the image. If the new com-
bination passes the test, the image display device may be suspect. If the source of the problem is identied as a
device used for image interpretation (i.e. laser printer, radiologist review workstation) corrective action shall be taken
before further mammographic image interpretation is performed by use of that device. Patient imaging may be con-
tinued. If available, an alternative approved diagnostic device may be used for mammographic image interpretation.
If the source of the problem is identied as the REGIUS system, the REGIUS system will need to have service to ad-
dress the issue. The corrective action shall be taken before further patient imaging is performed.
3.15.6 Documentation
Record this activity in the Table MP-12 (CR Reader Scanner Performance) and the Table MP-S (MEDICAL PHYSI-
CIST'S MAMMOGRAPHY QC TEST SUMMARY).
