LeeBoy Model 5300B Compact Paver5-12
Use the following procedure to make this adjustment on
both sides of the conveyor:
1. Move front of paver onto a ramp so you can get
underneath the front of the paver.
2. Loosen the two bolts on each conveyor adjustment
plate. (Figure 5-3 on the previous page.)
3. Loosen the jam nuts in front of the adjustment bolts.
4. Turn each adjustment bolt alternately the same
amount. For example, turn one bolt one half turn,
then the other bolt one half turn, etc.
5. Continue alternating tightening until the ight
chains are tight. (The pressure on the chain will be
noticeable as the bolts are tightened.)
NOTE: Drag chains should be 1/2-inch away from
rear frame channel.
6. After the conveyor chain tension is set, retighten
locknuts and bolts holding the ight chain assembly.
7. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the opposite side.
8. Grease the centralized pillow block bearings on
each side of the paver. (Page 5-8)
Keep conveyor ight chain properly
oiled with cleaning solvent or release agent during
cold weather to keep conveyors functioning
smoothly.
Conveyor Drive ChainsConveyor Drive Chains
Maintaining proper conveyor drive chain alignment is
essential for conveyor performance and maximizing
chain and sprocket life. Keep chains clean, lubricated,
and properly adjusted. Inspect the drive chain tension
on each side of the paver regularly.
Inspect drive chains on both sides of the paver, located
just inside the engine access panels toward rear of
paver. (See Page 5-44 for slack tension adjustment.)
If the chains are loose, adjustment is necessary.
NEVER perform any adjustments on
the paver while the engine is running.
If the chains are loose, adjustment is necessary.
1. Shut off paver and locate the conveyor drive chain
bolts (toward rear of paver). (Figure 5-4)
2. Loosen the jam nuts on the chain adjuster.

3. Turn the chain adjuster to loosen or tighten the
chain, leaving approximately 1/4-inch of slack. DO
NOT overtighten.
4. Retighten jam nuts.
5. Repeat steps on the other side.
