5. Press Button #1 to start the regeneration process.
During this process:
• DO NOT move machine out of park or neutral.
• DO NOT touch the accelerator pedal/lever.
• DO NOT turn the engine off or stop the
regeneration process.
• The engine speed will increase and there may be
a noticeable sound difference. This is normal. The
“Parked DPF Regen Active” message alert will
appear (Figure 4-40).
NOTE: The High Exhaust icon will illuminate when the
exhaust temperature reaches >842° F. Both
alerts will stay on during the regeneration
process.

6. Monitor your surroundings while the system is
regenerating, ensuring others stay away from the
machine. If any unsafe condition arises, shut off the
engine immediately and restart the process when
the area is clear.
When the parked regeneration process is complete,
the engine will automatically return to normal idle
speed. The Parked DPF Regen Active message will
disappear and the high exhaust icon light will turn
off.
DRIVING THE PAVER
The LeeBoy Model 5300B Compact Paver is equipped
with hydrostatic-driven tracks that propel the paver
using friction-controlled joysticks. The two joysticks
control the speed and direction of the paver in
conjunction with the machine speed set in the DM430
digital controller. Ramping for acceleration and
deceleration are proportional to the movement of the
joysticks.
The propel system utilizes a dual path proportional
system to control the tracks. In low speed, the inside
track counter-rotates. Steering the tracks is controlled
by a hydraulic proportional pump. The amount of
steering is controlled by the amount of joystick
movement and the speed of the paver. As the paver
speed increases, steering will be reduced.
While paving is typically accomplished on the left side,
you can operate this paver from either side of the
operator platform. The ergonomic control panel slides
to either side for operator convenience.
Avoid low limbs, power lines, and
other objects that can endanger crew or paver.
ALWAYS pave in low gear. Use high
gear for traveling only.
NOTE: The engine will not start unless the park
brake is engaged, the E-STOP button is
disengaged, and both joysticks are in the
NEUTRAL (center) position.
