ConveyorConveyor
The conveyor is a very important part of the paver that
moves material from the hopper back to the auger and
through the Under Auger Material Cut-Off to the screed.
Pay close attention to integrating conveyor operation
into the total operation of the paver. (Page 4-44)
NEVER leave the paver unattended
while the conveyor is operating. DO NOT leave paver
with empty conveyors running for any length of time
to prevent excessive wear.

When operating the conveyor:
• Spray down the conveyor drive chain along each
side of the conveyor with cleaning solvent or
release agent several times during the work day for
optimum performance.
Asphalt in the conveyor can ll tracks
and cause damage to the machine.
• If the conveyor is operating while the Under Auger
Material Cut-off are closed, there will be spillage,
which is normal. (Page 4-38) To help prevent this,
operate conveyors manually when loading hopper
and not paving.
• Irregular movement of the conveyor indicates that
the conveyor chain needs adjustment. (See Page
5-12 for adjustment procedure.)
NOTE: Check conveyor chain adjustment every 100
hours.
NOTE: Operating the conveyor in AUTO mode with
the augers in AUTO mode is the preferred
method for paving with this paver.
To operate the conveyor:
1. Press conveyor button once on the
lower left control panel keypad for
AUTO mode. Press and hold the button
for manual operation.
• In AUTO mode, the conveyor automatically
stops when proximity sensors detect asphalt
height at the appropriate level for pausing the
conveyor.
2. When operating in the AUTO mode,
press the conveyor plus/minus button
on the lower left control panel keypad.
• Press button to increase conveyor speed,
which increases in increments of 5 percent with
each button press.
• Once the cycle reaches 100 percent, the
conveyor speed begins to decrease by 5
percent with each button press. When the
speed reaches 0 percent, the cycle will begin to
increase in increments of 5 percent again.
NOTE: Moving the joysticks into neutral will pause
conveyor operation.
