Components Overview
This section describes the major components for the
LeeBoy 8520C Conveyor Paver. Become familiar with
these components before operating the machine.
Dual Operator PlatformDual Operator Platform
The dual operator platforms allow easy and convenient
access for controls of most paver functions. The paver
can be operated from the left or right side, depending
upon which control panel side is active and best suited
to the working conditions.
The main control panel slides to either side of the
platform, featuring the PV485 digital display controller,
work function switches, and a vandalism cover for
security and protection. The operator platform offers
the versatility of a high deck that can be manually
lowered to a low-deck conguration for accommodating
a screed operator while paving. Remote screed control
boxes are mounted on each side for screed operator
convenience.
and efciency while
operating functions
simultaneously.
Cooling systems
increase water pump
ow while robust
lubrication systems
produce more ow with higher pressure.
Accessing the radiator and other engine components
is as simple as pushing a switch to raise and lower the
engine hood. The engine is also accessible through
several access doors, with a front service door where
fuel lter components are located for easy access.
This powerful engine features a remotely-mounted
DOC+DPF+SCR after-treatment package with more
ow, high pressure, enhanced cooling system and
heat reduction. A heat shield for the exhaust manifold
reduces heat radiation to the engine. Bafes and louvers
direct hot air up and away from the operator. Six rib
serpentine belt and pulleys with P-Max fan adds more
air ow through the engine cooling system.
Advanced emission-control devices and low-sulfur fuel
requirements--only Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) can
be used in these engines--combine with after-treatment
Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) to optimize combustion.
This paver is also equipped with a DEF (Diesel Exhaust
Fluid) tank. Engine optimization runs all functions at
2100 RPMs for fuel-efcient operation.
Refer to the Engine Operator’s Manual accompanying
your paver for additional engine information.
Track SystemTrack System
The paver drive system contains two heavy-duty torque
hubs that propel the hydrostatically-powered, self-
cleaning tracks with self-adjusting front idlers. Two-
speed motors power tough planetary drives for smooth
operation.
