Status and Warning Alert IconsStatus and Warning Alert Icons
Status and warning alert icons illuminate in the top
banner on the screen to communicate engine status,
error alerts and diagnostic warnings to the operator.
Pay close attention to any status icon that appears.
Table 4-3. Status Icons
Status Icon Description
Check Engine. When this lamp is illu-
minated, a fault exists within the control
system. The engine may continue to
operate, however, it is unable to perform
DPF cleaning either automatically or
manually.
Take action immediately
to correct the fault to prevent engine
damage.
Diagnostic Warning Message. The
Check Engine light illuminates in the top
banner and a Diagnostic Warning Message
pop-up appears on the screen as a critical
warning that DEF needs to be added to
reduce DEF tank temperature, or DEF tank
temperature is so high that sensor damage
may occur.
Take action immediately
to correct the fault to prevent engine
damage.
Parking Brake Switch. The park icon
displays when the parking brake is applied.
NOTE: To perform a Parked REGEN,
the “P” and “N” lamps must be
illuminated.
Transmission Neutral. The neutral
icon displays when the transmission is in
neutral.
NOTE: To perform a Parked REGEN, the
“P” and “N” lamps must both be
illuminated.
Engine Exhaust High Temperature
Lamp. This lamp illuminates during the
REGEN cycle to warn of high exhaust
temperatures. This lamp will turn off
when normal operating temperatures are
reached after the REGEN cycle.
Be sure engine exhaust
is away from any potentially combus-
tible materials when this warning icon is
illuminated.
Status Icon Description
Diesel Particulate Filter Lamp. A Solid
Lamp is the initial warning that soot levels
are rising in the DPF. A Flashing Lamp indi-
cates a DPF REGEN is needed (on some
systems, the lamp will become RED when
ashing). The lamp will turn solid again
when a REGEN is initiated.
Any time the lamp begins ashing, the
operator should increase the loading
on the engine so that regeneration is
possible.
If increased load does
not cause an automatic REGEN to oc-
cur, the operator should immediately
perform a Parked, Manual REGEN.
DPF Regeneration Set to Inhibit. The
user may choose to inhibit the REGEN
if conditions are too hazardous for high
exhaust temperatures. When this lamp is
illuminated, a REGEN cannot be performed
and soot levels will continue to rise.
Unless hazardous condi-
tions exist, the REGEN Inhibit switch and
this lamp should remain off.
DEF Tank Level Warning Icon. This lamp
illuminates if the DEF tank level runs low
(below 15 percent).
Insufcient DEF can
result in damage to the DEF injector and
other components.
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) System
Warning. Indicates a failure of the emis-
sion system or that engine emissions are
too high. The DEF may be contaminated
and need to be replaced, or the system
may need service. Contact your authorized
dealer for assistance if needed.
