1.Makesurethatthepower-controlbuttonisworkingcorrectly:
a.Disconnecttheserverpowercords.
b.Reconnectthepowercords.
c.(Trainedtechnicianonly)Reseattheoperatorinformationpanelcable,and
thenrepeatsteps1aand1b.
(Trainedtechnicianonly)Iftheserverstarts,reseattheoperatorinformation
panel.Iftheproblemremains,replacetheoperatorinformationpanel.
Iftheserverdoesnotstart,bypassthepower-controlbuttonbyusing
theforcepower-onjumper(see“System-boardswitches,jumpers,and
buttons”onpage27).Iftheserverstarts,reseattheoperatorinformation
panel.Iftheproblemremains,replacetheoperatorinformationpanel.
2.Makesurethattheresetbuttonisworkingcorrectly:
a.Disconnecttheserverpowercords.
b.Reconnectthepowercords.
c.(Trainedtechnicianonly)Reseattheoperatorinformationpanelcable,and
thenrepeatsteps2aand2b.

3.Makesurethatbothpowersuppliesinstalledintheserverareofthesametype.
Mixingdifferentratingsofpowersuppliesintheserverwillcauseasystemerror

4.Makesurethat:
Thepowersourcemeetstheminimumvoltagerequirementfortheinstalled
powersupplies.
Thetypeofmemorythatisinstallediscorrect.
TheDIMMsarefullyseated.
TheLEDsonthepowersupplydonotindicateaproblem.
Themicroprocessorsareinstalledinthecorrectsequence.
5.Reseatthefollowingcomponents:
a.Operatorinformationpanelconnector
b.Powersupplies
6.Replacethecomponentslistedinstep5oneatatime,intheordershown,
restartingtheservereachtime.
7.Ifyoujustinstalledanoptionaldevice,removeit,andrestarttheserver.If
theservernowstarts,youmighthaveinstalledmoredevicesthanthepower
supplysupports.
