Note that the vertical motor cover also has to be removed on an LS2K5E or LS5S machine to
gain access to the motor and encoder. This is removed by unscrewing the 2 socket head
screws on each side of the cover.
Unscrew and remove the eye end locking ring, eye end and lower cover securing ring.
Carefully lift the rear of the lower cover upwards to clear the emergency stop switch then pull the
lower cover forwards to so that the lower fixing block inside the lower cover is clear of the base
plate. Lift the complete cover upwards and away from the machine.
When refitting the lower cover, place the front edge onto the front of the base plate then slide the
cover backwards to engage the lower fixing block under the base plate. Lower the complete cover
downwards and ensure that the rear of the cover is outside of the rear panel.
Refit the cover securing ring, eye end, eye end locking ring and the screws on the rear of the
machine.
8.5 Opening the Full Control Console
Opening the rear of the control console will give access to the LCD display and the Console
PCB, which contains the contrast potentiometer and the buzzer. Disconnect the external loom,
remove the 6 off M4 socket head screws holding the rear panel to the console then remove the
rear panel.
