8.14 Dismantling the Mechanical Assembly
Dismantling the vertical column will give access to the leadscrew and linear rail.
Remove the mechanical assembly from the machine as shown above.
Remove the 4 off M6 socket head screws securing the top plate to the vertical column. Carefully
prise the top plate from the vertical column. Note that the rear of the top plate has a dowel pin that
fits into the linear rail support bar so the top plate may be difficult to remove.
Loosen the M4 fixing bolt then slide the limit switch rod top support out of the top of the extrusion.
Loosen the M3 socket head screws / adjustable thumbscrews on the limit rod fixed and adjustable
collars then slide all 4 collars out of the top of the extrusion.
