9 Select the required initial speed by pressing the relevant numbered key on the numerical
keypad.
10 The machine will start moving in the UP direction and the LOAD APPLICATION Screen
will be displayed.

11 Move the crosshead to apply full load noting that the speed can be varied during the
calibration using the keys shown earlier.
12 When full load is applied, press the 0 key on the numerical keypad to stop the machine
WITH THE LOAD HELD by the motor drive electronics.
Do NOT press the STOP key because the motor drive will switch off and the crosshead
will move and the required load will no longer be applied.
13 Wait for approximately 30 seconds to allow the loadcell to stabilise.
14 Press the key under DIRECTION so that the display shows DOWN.
15 Select the required initial speed by pressing the relevant numbered key on the numerical
keypad.
16 The machine will start moving in the DOWN direction and the LOAD APPLICATION
Screen will be displayed.

17 Move the crosshead until the load falls back to zero noting that the speed can be varied
during the calibration using the keys shown earlier.
18 When zero load is applied, press the 0 key on the numerical keypad to stop the machine.
It is important that the loadcell and verification equipment is exercised three times between
zero and maximum load in the mode to be verified, holding maximum load for 30 seconds
each time, before carrying out the load calibration.
19 Press the key under DIRECTION so that the display shows UP.
