Comet Executive Gas Operating Guidelines
3-9
WARNING
The waxing cloth must
always be cool when it is
stored. A hot, folded waxing
cloth can catch re by
spontaneous combustion.
7. When done with waxing, hang up the wax-
ing cloth to cool. Extend it completely; do
not fold it up.
8. After the waxing cloth is completely cool,
store it in an appropriate manner.
Flatwork Handling
It is very important how operators use the unit.
By following these guidelines, operators can
increase productivity, extend the life of the unit,
and most importantly-promote safety.
Safety
Remove the atwork only after it has
cleared the unit. Do not pull on the
nished atwork while still in the unit.
Parts of the unit can be hotter than
300° F (150° C). Severe burns can
result.
Maximum E󰀩ciency
Follow the posted standards for the type
of atwork being processed.
Place the atwork straight and square on
the feed ribbons.
Stretch the atwork slightly to the sides
when feeding the atwork into the unit.
Do not process atwork with frayed
edges or loose threads as these can cause
jams.
Feed pillowcases lengthwise with the
closed end rst.
Leave a small gap between each item
being processed when feeding atwork.
Two operators should feed and receive
atwork. While one operator is manually
folding atwork, the other can prepare
the next piece of atwork for processing.
