Check and Clean Motors
The drive motor and exhaust blower motor
require weekly cleaning to ensure proper
operation.
Required Tools
Vacuum cleaner
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected and COOL.
1. Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
2. Use a vacuum to clean out lint and dirt
from the intake side (Figure 4-6) of each
specied motor.
3. Make sure the motors are free to turn
without excessive binding.
Check and Clean Sail Switch and
Exhaust Blower Wheel
The sail switch (Figure 4-7) must be cleaned in
order for it to operate properly when the exhaust

to be inspected and cleaned after the sail switch
is removed.

Operation of the unit with
foreign material (lint, threads,
wax particles, hair, etc.) in
the blower wheel between
the blades can cause
overheating, especially
of the endframe controls,
and possible premature
component failure.
