3. Product presentation
MiR500 is an autonomous mobile robot that can transport loads up to 250 kg500 kg and
pallets indoors within production facilities, warehouses, and other industrial locations where
access to the public is restricted.
Users operate MiR500 via a web-based user interface, which is accessed via a browser on a
PC, smartphone or tablet. Each robot has its own network. See Connecting to the robot
interface on page71. The robot can be set up to run a fixed route, be called on demand or
perform more complex missions.
The robot performs localization and navigation via a map which can be created or imported
the first time the robot is used. The internal map contains defined locations (office, product
delivery, production hall etc.) that are used for logistical planning. While operating, the
safety laser scanners ensure that the robot avoids dynamic obstacles (people, furniture) that
are not mapped.
With a MiR Charge48V, the robot can charge automatically with a charging mission and a
charging position on the map.
The robot interface of MiR500 can be accessed via Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge
browsers.
MiR500 is designed for fast change of batteries. The battery can be removed in less than two
minutes. See Lithium battery on page16
MiR500 is available both as ESD approved versions (they are black) and non_ESD approved
versions (they are grey).
