9.8.2 Air filter check
ATTENTION
THE PRE-FILTER IN SOME MODELS MAY NOT BE PRESENT.
To check the air filter, proceed as follows:
1) Put the machine in “safety state” (see par. 9.2).
2) Wait until the engine has cooled down.
3) Open the engine cover (see par. 9.4).
4) Remove the air filter cover (FIG. 40 - Ref. 1) by loosening the two fasteners (FIG. 40 - Ref. 2).
5) Unhook the retaining clip (FIG. 40 - Ref. 3).
6) Remove the air filter (FIG. 40 - Ref. 4).
7) Remove the filter element (FIG. 40 - Ref. 6) from the pre-filter (FIG. 40 - Ref. 5).
8) Check the filter element (FIG. 40 - Ref. 6), if cleaning is needed do it with low pressure air jets or replace with new genuine spare
part.
9) Check the pre-filter (FIG. 40 - Ref. 5), if cleaning is needed wash in liquid detergent and water. Then allow it to thoroughly air dry.
10) Reinstall the filter element in the pre-filter.
11) Reinstall the air filter and secure it with the retaining clip (FIG. 40 - Ref. 3).
12) Reinstall the air filter cover and secure it with the two fasteners
