Startingtheengine
NOTE:Theinstrumentsrepresentedmaynotexactlycor-
respondtotheinstrumentsonyourmachine.
Tocorrectlyperformthestartingprocedure,someprecau-
tionsarenecessary.
Checkthattheseat(1)isproperlylockedintheloader
attachmentworkingposition.
Adjusttheseatandfastentheseatbelt.
Checkthattheparkingbrakeswitch(2)isengaged.
Checkthattheengineacceleratorknobisinlowidlepo-
sition.
Checkthatthedirection-of-travellever(3)isinneutralpo-
sition.
NOTE:Ifthisisnotdone,theaudiblewarningdevicewill
soundanditwillbeimpossibletostarttheengine.
Checkthatthegearshiftlever(4)isinneutralposition
(Power-Shuttle).

TurnthestarterswitchkeytotheONposition.Alllamps
turnonandtheinstrumentbuzzersoundfor5s.After-
wards,thelampsturnoffandonlylamp(5)remainson.
Thegauges(6)and(7)settoposition.
Presstheacceleratorpedaldownaboutaquarterofthe
way.
Turnthekeytothestartingposition.Releasethekeyas
soonastheenginestarts.Iftheenginestops,waitabout
oneminutebeforestartingtheoperationagain.
NOTICE:Donotoperatethestartermotorformorethan
30satatime.Donotoperatethestartermotorwhenthe
engineisrunning.
Whentheengineisrunning,checktheindicatorsandin-
dicatorlampstomakesurethatallsystemsareoperating
correctly.
Usingtheacceleratorpedal,runtheengineathalfspeed
untilithasreachednormaloperatingtemperature.
NOTE:Donotruntheengineatidlespeedfortoolong,
sincethismaycausetheformationofdepositsintheoil.
Wheneverconditionsofuseandsafetyallowit,runthe
engineatmaximumspeed.
