componentscancauseare.
•
Sparksfromtheelectricalsystemorengineex-
haustcancauseanexplosionandre.Beforeyou
operatethemachineinanareawithammable
dustorvapors,usegoodventilationtoremovethe
ammabledustorvapors.
•
Enginefuelcancauseanexplosionorre.Donot
llthefueltankwiththeenginerunning,ifyouare
nearanopenre,orifyouarewelding,smoking,
etc.
•
Donotweldoramecutanyitemsthatcontain
ammablematerial.Cleanitemsthoroughlywith
non-ammablesolventbeforeweldingoramecut-
ting.
•
Alwayshaveareextinguishernearoronthema-
chine.Makesurethereextinguisher(s)ismain-
tainedandservicedaccordingtothemanufacturer’s
instructions.
•
Ifareextinguisherhasbeenused,always
rechargeorreplacethereextinguisherbefore
operatingthemachine.
•
Donotexposethemachinetoames,burning
brush,orexplosives.
•
Atleastonceeachday,andattheendoftheday,
removealltrashanddebrisfromthemachineespe-
ciallyaroundhotcomponentssuchasengine,trans-
mission,exhaust,battery,etc.Morefrequentclean-
ingofthemachinemaybenecessarydependingon
theoperatingenvironmentandconditions.
•
Atleastonceeachday,removedebrisaccumulation
aroundmovingcomponentssuchasbearings,pul-
leys,belts,gears,cleaningfan,etc.Morefrequent
cleaningofthemachinemaybenecessarydepend-
ingontheoperatingenvironmentandconditions.
•
Ifthemachinehasanoil,fuel,orhydraulicuidleak,
alwaysrepairtheleakandcleantheareabefore
operating.
•
Keepthecoolingsystemcleanandmaintainthecor-
rectcoolantlevel.
•
Donotstoreoilyragsorotherammablematerials
onthemachine.
•
Inspecttheelectricalsystemforlooseconnections
orfrayedinsulation.Repairorreplacelooseordam-
agedparts.
•
Promptlyinvestigateanyunusualsmellsorodors
thatmayoccurduringoperationofthemachine.
•
Ifyouweld,grind,oruseacuttingtorchonthema-
chine:
•
Cleantheareatoberepaired.
•
Disconnectorisolatethedrivetraincontroller.
•
Keepthegroundcablefromthewelderas
neartotheworkareaaspossible.
•
Sparksoramecancausethehydrogengasina
batterytoexplode.Topreventanexplosion:
•
Connectthenegative(-)cablelast.
•
Whenconnectingboostercablestostartthe
engine,usetheprocedureshowninthisman-
ual.
•
Donotshortcircuitthebatterypostswith
metalitems.
•
Donotweld,grind,orsmokenearthebattery.
