4-OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
Startingtheengine-Atlowtemperatures
Thisstartingsystemactivateswhentheambienttemper-
atureislowerthan5°C(41°F).
NOTE:inverycoldstartingconditions[startingbelow-15
°C(5°F)]theenginecontrollerwilllimittheenginespeed
toamaximumof1200RPMtopreventdamagetotheen-
gine.Ifthethrottlesettingisatlowidleuponstart,the
enginewillrunat950RPMunlessoverriddenbytheclus-
tersetting.Youcanadjusttheenginespeedbetween950
RPMand1200RPMduringthistime.At-20°C(-4°F),
thismaytakeupto100s.
Whenstartingacoldengineattemperaturesbelow5°C
(41°F),openthethrottlefully.
TurnthekeyswitchtotheONpositionandcheckthein-
strumentcluster.
Waitfortheglowplugsindicatorlight(1)toturnoffbefore
turningthekeyswitchtoON.
TurnthekeyswitchtoONuntiltheenginestarts,then
releasethekey.
Iftheenginefailstostartafteramaximumof30sofcrank-
ingrepeatthestartingprocedure.
Donotoperatethestarterformorethan30s.
