Hydraulicuidordieselfuelleakingunderpressurecanpenetratetheskinandcauseinfectionor
otherinjury.Topreventpersonalinjury:Relieveallpressurebeforedisconnectinguidlinesorper-
formingworkonthehydraulicsystem.Beforeapplyingpressure,makesureallconnectionsaretight
andallcomponentsareingoodcondition.Neveruseyourhandtocheckforsuspectedleaksunder
pressure.Useapieceofcardboardorwoodforthispurpose.Ifinjuredbyleakinguid,seeyour
doctorimmediately.

Checkbrakes,steering,andothermachinecontrol
devicesinaccordancewithmaintenanceinstruc-
tions,priortostartingoperation.Observeallgauges
orwarninginstrumentsforproperoperation.Oper-
ateallcontrolstoensureproperoperation.Ifany
malfunctionsarefound,removethekeyandattach
a'DoNotOperate'tagonthemachineuntilthemal-
functioniscorrected.
Ifafailurethatcauseslossofcontrolsuchassteer-
ing,servicebrakes,orengineoccurs,stopthema-
chinemotionasquicklyaspossible.Makesurethe
machineissecurelyparked.Removethekeyand
attacha'DoNotOperate'tagonthemachineuntil
themalfunctioniscorrectedorthemachinecanbe
safelytowed.
Makesureallcomponentsareingoodconditionand
tightenallconnectionsbeforestartingtheengineor
pressurizingthesystem.
Makesureallguardsandshieldsareingoodcon-
ditionandproperlyinstalledbeforeoperatingma-
chine.Neveroperatethemachinewiththeshields
removed.Alwayscloseaccessdoorsorpanelbe-
foreoperatingthemachine.
Beforestartingtheengine,besurealloperating
controlsareintheneutralorparklockposition.
Starttheengineonlyfromtheoperatorsseat.
Operatecontrolsonlywhenseatedintheoperator's
seat,exceptforthosecontrolsexpresslyintended
forusefromotherlocations.
Donotallowotherpersonstorideonthemachine
oronanattachment/implement.
Operateanddrivethemachinewithcareandat
speedcompatiblewithconditions.Useextracau-
tionwhenoperatingoverroughground,onslopes,
andwhenturning.
Ifyourmachinehasacab,makesurethatallwin-
dowsarecleanandthatthewindshieldwiperswork
correctly.
Dust,fog,smoke,etc.,candecreaseyourvision
andcauseanaccident.Stopthemachineorde-
creasethespeeduntilyoucansee.
Understandthemachinelimitationsandkeepthe
machineundercontrol.
Beforeyouoperateatnight,checkthatalllamps
illuminate.
Selectagearthatwillpreventexcessivespeed
whengoingdownhill.Donotcoastdownhill.
DONOTattempttoremovematerialfromanypart
ofthemachinewhileitisbeingoperatedorcompo-
nentsareinmotion.
