Onoccasion,themachinewillneedtobesafelyparkedandrunthroughaforcedregenerationtoclearaccumu-
latedashintheDPFthatcannotbeclearedthroughnormalmachineoperatingcycles.

TheoperatormayNOTcontinuetooperatethemachinenormallyduringtheforcedregenerationprocess.
•
Duringtheforcedregenerationprocessanincreaseinenginenoiselevelmaybeobserved.
•
Duringtheforcedregenerationprocessaburningor“hot”odormaybepresent.
•
Theforcedregenerationprocesswilllastapproximately20minutesdependingontheashlevelintheDPF .
•
Iftheforcedgenerationprocessisnotallowedthemachinewillbegintode-rate
.DamageorshortenedDPF
lifemayoccuriftheforcedregenerationisignoredforanextendedperiodoftime.
DPFregeneration–Forced
Operatorwillbenotiedwithoneofthefollowing:
•
extendedaudiblealert,amberLEDandtheDPF
regenerationPARKsymbolwillappearonthedis-
playscreen.Indicatingahighlevelofashispresent
intheDPFsystem.
•
Constantaudiblealert,red
LEDandtheDPFre-
generationPARKsymbolwillappearonthedisplay
screen.Indicatinganextremelyhighlevelofashis
presentintheDPFsystem.

Calmlyndalocationoutofthewayonthe
jobsiteandclearawayfromanycombustible
material.Performthefollowing:
•
PutthemachineinNeutral.
•
Engageparkingbrake.
•
Putboththehandandfootthrottlesintheiridlepo-
sition.
•
WaitfortheDPFregenerationSTARTsymboltoap-
pearonthedisplay.
NOTE:Changinganyoftheaboveconditionsdur-
ingtheforcedregenerationprocesswillcausethe
processtoFAIL.
