Automatic reset
With the automatic reset function the safety laser scanner is set to normal operation when
the safety laser scanner was in an error state, and the error was rectified.
When the function of the automatic reset is activated, there is an attempt to restore normal
operation automatically 10 seconds after an error state is determined.
The automatic reset function is permanently deactivated when the PSEN sc ME 5.5 08-17
switches to an error state more than 5 times within 15 minutes with an INTFx error.
The PSEN sc ME 5.5 08-17 must be switched off and then on again.
4.9 Encoder
Encoders can be connected and configured to process movement data (e.g. automated
guided vehicles) in dynamic applications.
} To determine the speed of an automated guided vehicle, max. 4 inputs are available for
input signals from encoders.
} To use encoder inputs, these must be configured in PSENscan Configurator.
The following values must be specified (see Encoder [ 42]):
max. deviation from rated speed in %
Number of measured values per centimetre of rotation
Speed range in cm/s
4.10 Coding against interference
Safety laser scanners that can influence each other can be operated in the same room
when beam coding of the safety laser scanner is set up.
A code is specified for each laser scanner and assigned to this safety laser scanner.
Four codes can be selected that are assigned to a safety laser scanner each during config-
uration (Configure detection capability).
The selected code extends the response time per measurement cycle of the safety laser
scanner.
For the four codes there are the following response time extensions per measurement
cycle.
Code Response time per measurement cycle
0 30ms
1 30.5ms
2 31ms
3 31.5ms
4.11 EDM
Contactors outside the safety laser scanner can be monitored (External Device Monitoring
= EDM, also known as feedback loop monitoring).
EDM only needs to be activated if the contactors are controlled directly.
