Horizontal machine alignment
The ROTALIGN program covers practically any alignment situation.
A multitude of options are available with the softkeys at the bottom
of the screen. For most applications though, the "straight through"
approach should apply where the default settings are perfectly
suitable and the special options are not required.
Therefore, for clarity, only the "straight through" method is described
in detail here. The options are mentioned briefly in smaller print and
page references are provided to their complete descriptions which are
also included in manual. The flow chart on the opposite page gives a
complete overview.
As this is the main instruction procedure, it is important to acquaint
yourself with this chapter before moving to vertical machines or
special cases.
Step by step
1. Prepare machine for alignment!
2. Mount the brackets.
3. Mount laser and receiver.
4. Switch on the ROTALIGN computer.
5. DIMENSIONS: enter machine dimensions.
6. Adjust laser beam onto the receiver.
7. Check for soft foot.
8. MEASURE: take measurements.
9. RESULTS: coupling offset and corrective values for machine
feet
10. MOVE:
a) Move vertically with shims
b) Move horizontally
11. Repeat measurement and MOVE if necessary until aligned!
