Horizontal machine alignment - results
Example of coupling and
foot misalignments
Note, the alignment diagram is scaled according to the entered
machine dimensions. The smiley faces appear if a tolerance mode has
been set, see page 4-62 for details.
The calculated misalignment values are displayed In the middle of
the screen. Study these and compare them with the machine
tolerances.
If you are using V-form machines, see page 4-18.
If the coupling values are within your machine tolerances, then the
machines are aligned!

OPTION has the following selections (see page 4-57 for overview):
STATIC FEET Select feet which cannot be moved. If left machine is "Stationary" in
MACHINE SETUP (page 4-17), the entire right machine must be moveable.
See page 4-65.
TARGET Set "cold" coupling target alignment based on display mode selected in
COUPLING TYPE (page 4-19). The target symbol appears in Results when set.
See page 4-49.
THERM GROWTH Set thermal growth values for nonstatic feet, horiz. and vertically.
The target symbol appears in Results when set. See page 4-61.
TOL Set tolerances: TABLE tolerances are based on machine size and RPM. Press
EDIT key to enter RPM. Select TABLE TYPE : Excellent, Acceptable and User-
defined. ("50 Hz/60 Hz" shows RPM increments suited to European/US
machines.) The smiley face appears in results when a mode is selected. See
page 4-62.
