9.7Radarmodeandorientation
Radarorientationmodes
Theradarcanoperateinanumberoforientationmodestosuit
differenttypesofnavigation.
Theorientationoftheradarreferstotherelationshipbetweenthe
radarandthedirectionthatyouaretravellingin.Therearethree
orientationmodestochoosefrom:
Headup.
Northup.
Courseup.
Theseorientationmodesareusedinconjunctionwithmotionmode
tocontrolhowyourboatandradarrelatetooneanotherandhow
theyaredisplayedonscreen.Anychangesthatyoumaketothe
orientationoftheradarareretainedwhenyouswitchoffyour
multifunctiondisplay.
HeadUp(H-UP)
Thisisthedefaultmodefortheradarapplication.
Ship's Heading Marker (SHM)
(indicating the boat's current
heading) is upwards
As your boat's heading changes:
SHM fixed upwards
Radar picture rotates accordingly
