TheNavtexfeaturesenableyoutoviewmarinesafetyinformation,
includingweatherforecastsandmarinesafetywarnings.
WithasuitableNavtexreceiverconnectedtoyourmultifunction
display,youcanviewmarinesafetyinformation,includingweather
forecastsandmarinewarnings.
MajorareasofNAVTEXcoverageincludetheMediterraneanSea,
TheNorthSea,coastalareasaroundJapan,andareasaroundthe
NorthAmericancontinent.
IncomingNavtexMessageAlerts
WheneverawarningisreceivedbytheNavtexreceiver,analert
isdisplayedonyourmultifunctiondisplayforanycategoryof
informationthatyouhavesetup.Thealertcontainsthemessage
details,andcanbeerasedorsaved.
Yourmultifunctiondisplaystoresupto100messages.Once
capacityisreached,theoldestmessagesareautomaticallydeleted
toallowfornewincomingmessages.
NavtexMessageAlertCategories
Youcancongureyourmultifunctiondisplaytoshowalertsfora
rangeofdifferentcategoriesofinformation,includingwarnings,
reportsandservices.Examplesincludenavigationalwarnings,ice
reports,searchandrescueinformation,metereologicalwarnings,
andspecialservices.
ThesecategoriesaresetupusingtheNavtexMessageList.
Selectingtheappropriatecategoriesfromthelistensuresthatyou
onlyreceivewarningsandinformationthatarerelevanttoyou.

InordertoreceiveNavtexalertsonyourmultifunctiondisplay,you
mustconnectaNavtexreceiverandconguretheNMEAoptionson
yourmultifunctiondisplay.
BeforeyouareabletoreceiveandviewNavtexsafetymessageson
yourmultifunctiondisplay,youmust:
•ConnectasuitableNavtexreceivertoyourmultifunctiondisplay.
•SpecifytheappropriatebaudratefortherelevantNMEAporton
yourmultifunctiondisplay(MENU>SystemSetup>System
Integration).YoumustselecttheNavtex4800orNavtex9600
optionifyouwanttoviewtheNavtexMessageList.
